World Record Throw april2001 |
For the first time ever, a golf disc has
officially broken 700 feet!
On April 1st, Germany's Chris Max Voigt threw a Discraft XS 712.1 feet
(217.05m) in the California desert, breaking Scott Stokely's long-standing
record of 693.3 feet.
Scott Stokely
witnessed the throw and said about it "There
was a steady 10-15 mph wind and Chris got off a near perfect, fairly
high anhyzer that we all knew was a record the moment it hit the ground.
We shot it with a laser and then laid down a tape measurer and got
nearly identical results."

Stokely beat the sidearm throw record with a throw of 158 metres (518.24

(606.8 feet) with a 160 gram Discraft XS.
